The "Save Our Seas" license plate was designed by conservationist and marine animal artist Guy Harvey, and provides funds to conduct scientific research, conservation, education, and marine resource management of marine plants and animals and coastal oceanography in Florida's marine waters.

The mission of the Division of Marine Science at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution is to conduct high-quality research in marine science, with emphasis on marine ecology, biological oceanography, and physical oceanography.

Save Our Seas are now available at your local county tax collector offices and cost $25, which is tax-deductible, in addition to normal license plate fees.
